TEGAL, OCTOBER 14, 2024. The intense competition among schools at the AXIS Nation Cup 2024 has finally yielded a winner from the regional rounds in West Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta. This group-stage tournament narrowed down the competition, bringing together the top schools to compete in Tegal on October 11-12, 2024. As a result, just like last year, the futsal team from SMAN 11 Semarang secured victory in the region and earned a spot in the Grand Final at Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on November 16, 2024.
This event brought together 9 futsal teams from various schools, each representing their city, including SMAN 8 Cirebon, SMKN 1 Cikalongkulon Cianjur, SMAN 1 Padamara Purwokerto, SMAN 18 Bandung, SMKN 1 Nglipar Yogyakarta, SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya, SMAN Darmaraja Sumedang, SMK Islam Nusantara Comal Tegal, and SMAN 11 Semarang. These teams competed fiercely, outplaying hundreds of schools from Cirebon, Cianjur, Bandung, Sumedang, Tasikmalaya, Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Tegal, showcasing both their skills on the field and their unwavering drive to claim the championship.
Arif Farhan Budiyanto, Group Head of Central Region XL Axiata, said, "We congratulate all the schools that made it to the regional round, especially the team from SMAN 11 Semarang for securing a spot in the Grand Final in Jakarta. Arif further explained that the AXIS Nation Cup is more than just a tournament—it's a platform to nurture Indonesia's young talent. As the largest high school futsal competition, XL Axiata, through AXIS, is committed to actively promoting student sports achievements while enhancing AXIS’s brand presence among the youth.
On a national scale, AXIS Nation Cup 2024 features 1,650 schools from 40 cities, with a total prize pool of IDR 870 million. Besides cash rewards, the top five players will have the exclusive chance to attend training at a prestigious football club as part of their development program.
In addition to the futsal tournament, the AXIS Nation Cup includes other exciting competitions like a dance contest, supporter competition, and digital challenge. Participants will undergo a thorough selection process, with the top six teams in each category competing to win millions of rupiah, trophies, and certificates of recognition.
