Jakarta, July 22, 2024. Employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through the Majelis Ta’lim XL Axiata (MTXL Axiata), organized the Semarak Muharram 1446H program "Happiness for Orphans." This program is held annually in various cities across Indonesia. This year, XL Axiata employees simultaneously distributed aid in 15 cities in Indonesia. The aid distributed included basic necessities, school supplies, cash, and mass circumcision for 110 children in Majalengka and Bogor, as well as assistance for orphaned and underprivileged children in Pematangsiantar, Palembang, Bandung, Banten, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Surabaya, Makassar, and Jakarta. Additionally, similar activities were held at MTXL Axiata-supported mosques in Aceh, East Java, South Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and Central Sulawesi. #ThereForIndonesia.

MTXL Axiata collaborated with Daarut Tauhiid (DT) Peduli Jakarta in Cilandak, South Jakarta, by organizing a shopping event with orphaned and underprivileged children, where they received clothes and religious items.
In Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, the distribution of donations was carried out by the Mayor of Pematangsiantar, dr. Susanti Dewayani, Sp. A, together with the Indonesian Photo Journalists Association (PFI) Medan, the Indonesian Women Journalists Forum (FJPI) North Sumatra, Daarut Tauhiid (DT) Peduli Pematang Siantar, and the Taruna Melati Muhammadiyah Orphanage in Pematang Siantar. For the distribution of donations in Palembang, MTXL Axiata collaborated with the Pelangi Orphanage.
For distribution in Bandung, MTXL Axiata collaborated with the Al Fitrah Tholibin Foundation, in Banten it was distributed to Girimukti Village and Cimarga Village, in Pontianak with the Al Hidayah Orphanage, in Banjarmasin with the Madani Sentosa Welfare Foundation, in Surabaya with the Ar-Rahman Karanganyar Islamic Boarding School, and in Makassar with the Al-Isra Orphanage.
For the mass circumcision activity, MTXL Axiata collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa in Rajagaluh District, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province, and IZI (Indonesian Zakat Initiative) in Pamegarsari Village, Parung District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The children who participated in the circumcision were from underprivileged families. Each child received a package containing aid, a sarong, a bag, a koko shirt, snacks, medicines, and circumcision pants.
Special Muharram lectures and aid distribution to orphans and underprivileged children were also conducted in MTXL Axiata-supported mosques located in Meulaboh - Aceh, Magetan - East Java, Luwuk - Central Sulawesi, Maros - South Sulawesi, and Ndewel - East Nusa Tenggara. These five mosques were built by MTXL Axiata through the collection of zakat and waqf funds from XL Axiata management and employees for the surrounding communities and are managed as MTXL Axiata-supported mosques. #BeBetter.
The Semarak Muharram 1446H “Happiness for Orphans” program was funded through zakat contributions from XL Axiata management and employees, which are collected monthly and managed by MTXL Axiata for distribution to those in need. In addition to supporting orphans and underprivileged children, MTXL Axiata has consistently carried out various community assistance programs in previous years. These initiatives include building bridges, water sources, electricity infrastructure, water depots, conducting blood drives, renovating homes, constructing roads and bridges, and building mosques.
