JAKARTA, OCTOBER 19, 2024. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through XL Axiata Business Solutions (XLABS), has introduced its latest innovative digital solution, XL Axiata HydroponiX. This is an Internet of Things (IoT) based smart farming solution. This solution is specifically designed to support hydroponic farmers, enabling them to enhance the quality of their crops.
The HydroponiX solution, featuring melons as a commodity, was showcased at the Eighth Business Meeting of the P3DN Affirmation Action (Temu Bisnis Aksi Afirmasi P3DN) in September 2024, organized by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

Feby added that the solution offers benefits such as a monitoring system, automatic nutrient feeding, as well as monitoring the environmental temperature of the cultivation area. She noted that environmental factors in hydroponic farming—such as temperature, humidity, sunlight, pH levels, nutrient solutions, and other measurable factors that determine success—can be effectively monitored and adjusted according to needs using this IoT hydroponic system.
Previously, without this tool, nutrient measurements for plants were done manually, which often led to inaccuracies and delays in nutrient application. This affected the inconsistency of plant growth and overall productivity.
This IoT solution for hydroponics has proven capable of more than doubling average productivity. Effectiveness testing for the HydroponiX solution has been conducted in XL Axiata's IoT and AI laboratory (X-Camp), both in indoor and outdoor scenarios. This advanced hydroponic solution has already been implemented at Hydroponikita and BMH gardens in Bogor, as well as at the hydroponic garden of Tholabie Classic International Boarding School in Malang. Additionally, implementation is currently underway at hydroponic farms supported by several local governments.
