Earthquake in Bandung Regency XL Axiata Delivers Assistance to Victims

XL Axiata ensures that during the emergency response period, telecommunications services continue to operate normally so that residents can stay connected with their families and relatives, as well as receive the information they need during the crisis. The aid provided includes essential items for displaced residents, such as sleeping mats, blankets, and tarpaulins.

BANDUNG REGENCY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2024. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through its XL Axiata Peduli Bencana (XL Axiata Cares for Disaster) program, extended support to the earthquake victims in Cibeureum, Kertasari, Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (25/9). The assistance includes essential items for displaced residents, such as sleeping mats, blankets, and tarpaulins. The aid was directly handed over to the affected victims by the Head of Sales for XL Axiata Bandung Raya area, Ony Prasetyo, in collaboration with the Benih Baik Foundation, a local partner, and supported by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) for distribution.

 

Group Head Central Region XL Axiata, Arif Farhan Budiyanto, expressed, “We at XL Axiata are deeply concerned about the earthquake that has affected the people of Bandung Regency and the surrounding areas. As part of this community, we immediately took steps to help recovery efforts by distributing much-needed assistance. We hope this aid can ease the burden on those affected and help them recover and #JadiLebihBaik.”

 

“We are also ensuring that during this emergency response period, telecommunications services continue to operate normally so that residents can stay connected with their families and relatives, and receive the information they need during this crisis,” explained Arif further.

 

XL Axiata has also made sure that multiple technical teams are on standby to monitor network operations. Several precautionary measures have been prepared, such as ensuring the availability of generators and implementing network adjustments. In terms of connectivity, XL Axiata's network in the affected areas remains secure.

 

Currently, disaster survivors remain in evacuation centers due to concerns over aftershocks. The XL Axiata team is dedicated to ongoing monitoring and coordination with local partners and volunteers to ensure that aid distribution proceeds efficiently and provides support to those in need.

 

 

According to data from the West Java BPBD, the earthquake impacted 3,283 homes in Bandung Regency, 1,195 in Garut Regency, three in West Bandung Regency, one in Cimahi City, one in Purwakarta Regency, and one in Bogor Regency. Additionally, there have been 82 reported injuries.

 

At present, XL Axiata continues to provide services to customers with the support of a 4G data network throughout West Java. The company operates over 31,000 base transceiver stations (BTS), most of which are 4G. XL Axiata is committed to further enhancing and strengthening the network to meet the needs of the West Java community.
