Medan, 4 June 2022. XL Axiata employees through the XL Axiata Ta'lim Council (MTXL Axiata) and the Indonesian Photo Pewarta (PFI) Medan distributed 50 packages of school equipment donations for children who live along the Deli River's banks in Jalan Katamso Medan, Saturday (4/6). This social program is part of the 11th Indonesian Photojournalist Award (APFI) series which will take place in Medan City, 3 – 8 June 2022. Present at this donation event include Head of Sales XL Axiata Greater Medan, Horas Lubis, Chairman MTXL West, Maf'ul Taufiq, Head of PFI Medan, Rahmad Suryadi, Head of PFI Center, Reno Esnir, and Senior Journalist, Adek Berry.
Head of Central MTXL Axiata, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya said, “Some of XL Axiata's employees have become part of the local community, both for work and living. This assistance is a form of our concern to help people who need school equipments around rivers in Medan City. We hope that the assistance provided is useful for children studying and schools. We also congratulate and congratulate APFI 2022 which will be held in Medan City. Hopefully, the Indonesian Photojournalist will continue to advance and continue to develop to produce their best works.”
Yanuar added that the donation program for the underprivileged is one part of the MTXL Axiata Program which continues to be committed to being present in the community, especially in dealing with various social problems and disasters. The aid fund distributed by his party is the result of collecting infaq funds for XL Axiata employees which are routinely collected every month and managed by the XL Axiata Ta'lim Council to be distributed to people in need.
The chairman of PFI Medan, Rahmad Suryadi said, "As part of the Medan community, we at PFI also feel a sense of responsibility to go directly to help people who need help, not only by aiding through news, but we make it happen by providing assistance in the form of educational equipment. This program is in collaboration with MTXL Axiata, a company that is constantly concerned about the community. Hopefully, it will be beneficial, and the kids will be more interested in learning."
Anugerah Pewarta Foto Indonesia (APFI) is a High Award for Indonesian Journalists that has been held since 2011. This year, APFI 2022 is held in Medan, which is packaged differently by introducing the icons of Medan's tourist destinations.
