Jakarta, 28 November 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) collaborated in supporting the security of the G20 Bali Summit with the use of a Body-Worn Camera. The collaboration carried out by XL Axiata is by providing a prime 4G network and sim cards used in Body-Worn Camera devices. This collaboration is one of XL Axiata's commitments to support the government in ensuring the success of the 2022 G20 Summit international event.
The Body-Worn Camera used by the Indonesian National Police and the G20 Summit security team is a camera attached to a jacket or vest. The Body-Worn Camera had been used between November 1-18, 2022, by the security team deployed in key areas, including Ngurah Rai International Airport, Apurva Hotel Nusa Dua, the mobility area of police personnel between the airport and Nusa Dua ITDC, Renon Field in the troop demonstration event, and at the simulation of terrorism handling in Kuta Bali.
Chief Enterprise & SME Officer of XL Axiata, Feby Sallyanto, said, "We are committed to continuing to support government programs or events in the use of technology and digitalization in Indonesia. It is an honor for XL Axiata through XL Axiata Business Solutions (XLABS) to be able to participate in supporting the security of the G20 Summit in Bali some time ago by providing fast and stable IoT connectivity on body-worn camera devices and dashboard monitoring to assist the National Police in monitoring and ensuring all devices are running properly. This collaboration with the National Police is also proof of XL Axiata's ability to provide various digital solutions to realize XL Axiata's goal of becoming the integrated ICT solution provider of choice."
Feby added that the body-worn camera uses a GSM-based IoT solution. In addition, XL Axiata also provided connectivity support used in HT Push To Talk for the Command Center at the Bali Police and Mobile Command Centers in Nusa Dua and Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, as well as Command Center operational assistance for the Polri ICT Division during its duty at the Bali G20 Summit.
This Body-Worn Camera is a surveillance camera with many features besides recording activities. This camera has 32 GB of memory that can record non-stop for 20 hours, a battery capacity of up to 8 hours non-stop, and a Global Positioning System (GPS). Furthermore, it can be used for live streaming and connected to command center officers using XL Axiata 4G network connection.
The camera is equipped with an infrared feature useful for recording ground conditions at night. There is also an emergency button (panic button) feature to be used by officers during emergencies. When the button is pressed, an alarm will sound in the command center, and the camera will automatically send the coordinates of the officer who pressed the panic button. This body-worn camera was used by officers of the Korlantas, Brimob, Polri ICT Division, and Detachment 88 during the Bali G20 Summit security. A total of 200 devices were used during security.
With the successful cooperation in securing the Bali G20 Summit, XL Axiata and Polri will expand the range of utilization of this body-worn camera technology. Both parties plan to implement this technology in Jakarta and Surabaya with around 1,300 device units.
