Supporting the Implementation of Electronic-Based Government Systems, XL Axiata Provides ICT Services in North Lombok Regency

XLABS has become a partner for the North Lombok Regency Government in providing a smart system for public street lighting (PJU) and various ICT solutions to develop North Lombok into a smart city. One of the implementations includes the provision of a smart street lighting network (PJU). Additionally, XL Axiata will assist in providing various ICT solutions for all Regional Work Unit (SKPD) devices.

NORTH LOMBOK, AUGUST 16, 2024. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through XL Axiata Business Solutions (XLABS), supports the North Lombok Regency Government's efforts to implement an Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). One of the key implementations is the provision of a smart street lighting network (PJU), along with various ICT solutions for all Regional Work Unit (SKPD) devices. The exclusive cooperation agreement was signed by North Lombok Regent, H. Djohan Sjamsu, SH, and XL Axiata’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Feby Sallyanto, at the North Lombok Regent's Office, West Nusa Tenggara, on Thursday (15/8).

 

Feby Sallyanto, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at XL Axiata, stated, “We are proud to be a partner with the North Lombok Regency Government in providing smart street lighting systems and various ICT solutions to make North Lombok a smart city and #JadiLebihBaik. Through this partnership, we will assist the North Lombok Regency Government in effectively implementing SPBE to improve public services and advance the region’s digital progress across all sectors.”

 

Feby further explained that in supporting smart city programs in various regions, XLABS is well-equipped with resources, technology, and experience in implementing similar programs in several areas across Indonesia. The collaboration between XL Axiata Business Solutions and the North Lombok Regency Government includes the application of various integrated ICT solutions. This support is expected to accelerate the smart city program and connectivity throughout the regency, including rural areas.

 

North Lombok Regent, H. Djohan Sjamsu, SH, remarked, “North Lombok is a key tourist spot in West Nusa Tenggara, drawing as many as 1 million visitors each year. Thus, the need for advanced information technology in North Lombok is essential. Our partnership with XL Axiata is a significant step towards speeding up the digital transformation to enhance public services. We look forward to North Lombok achieving smart city status soon.”

 

The smart street lighting system allows for wireless monitoring and control of street lights in designated areas. This management is carried out using computers, laptops, or smartphones over 3G and 4G networks. The implementation of this smart lighting system utilizes technology for energy efficiency and improves management while offering easy operation.

 

Besides PJU, XLABS’ ICT solutions also focus on enhancing healthcare access and quality for residents of North Lombok. The service, known as XL Axiata Akses Sehat, features portable medical devices supported by advanced artificial intelligence and IoT (AIoT) technologies, along with XL Axiata’s broadband connectivity. These devices are designed for use by healthcare facilities such as community health centers, hospitals, and pharmacies in North Lombok to aid in early detection and disease prevention.

 

Looking forward, XLABS' partnership with the North Lombok Regency Government will also facilitate the introduction of additional IoT and ICT solutions utilizing XL Axiata’s network.

 

 

XLABS Supports IoT Implementation in Agriculture

 

In Malang Regency, East Java, XLABS is playing a role in advancing agricultural digitalization by taking part in an event hosted by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Malang Regency. The event, which centered on deploying IoT services for melon farming, was attended by farmer groups from various areas within the regency.

 

During the event, XLABS demonstrated how XL Axiata’s cellular network facilitates connectivity for IoT devices in greenhouse operations. XL Axiata also expressed interest to explore future collaborations to develop IoT solutions that advance the agricultural sector, collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and other key organizations to boost agriculture in Indonesia.

 

For agricultural solutions, XLABS offers a precision farming solution named “XL Smart Hydroponics.” As the name suggests, this solution aims to improve the quality and productivity of hydroponic farming techniques. The IoT-based solution has proven effective in increasing farmers' productivity by more than twice. This innovative IoT service development is part of XL Axiata’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
