Share
Employees and management of XL Axiata are committed to continuously increasing their contributions to society as a form of care through sustainable CSR programs. Recently, XL Axiata demonstrated its commitment by building prayer rooms and clean water facilities in two locations in Lebak Regency, Banten.

Lebak, September 3, 2024. The management and employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) continued to show their commitment for helping address social problems and enhancing convenience within service areas, aligned with the #JadiLebihBaik initiative. This time, XL Axiata employees, through the XL Axiata Majlis Taklim (MTXL Axiata), have established the Taman Surga Thoriqotul Falah Prayer Room in Ciranca Village, Cijaku District, and clean water facilities at the Al Muhajirin Prayer Room in Bojong Menteng Village, Leuwidamar District, both located in Lebak Regency, Banten Province.

The inauguration of the prayer room construction was carried out together with MTXL Axiata, the Nusantara Mosque Foundation, the Mosque Management Council (DKM), and witnessed by the prayer room congregation and local residents on Sunday (1/9). On the same day, MTXL Axiata, together with Rumah Zakat and the local community, also inaugurated the construction of clean water facilities. The prayer room construction was funded by endowment contributions, while the clean water facilities were financed through zakat and infaq donations from XL Axiata’s management and staff.

Yanuar Tirta Kumaya, Chairman of the XL Axiata Majlis Taklim, expressed, "Alhamdulillah, the prayer room and clean water facilities have been successfully completed to serve the village community and surrounding areas. It is a source of pride for XL Axiata’s management and employees to be able to directly contribute to creating essential public facilities that are much needed by the residents of Ciranca Village and Bojong Menteng Village. We hope that these newly built and inaugurated prayer room and clean water facilities will provide long-lasting benefits to the local community."

Yanuar further explained that this initiative was supported by infaq, zakat, and endowment contributions from XL Axiata’s management and employees to help those in need. The employees and management of XL Axiata remain dedicated to consistently expanding their societal contributions as a reflection of their commitment to sustainable CSR efforts. XL Axiata has reinforced this dedication by constructing prayer rooms and clean water facilities in two locations within Lebak Regency, Banten.

The construction of the Taman Surga Thoriqotul Falah Prayer Room is intended to address the community's need for better worship facilities in Ciranca Village. The original prayer room, built in 2004, had never undergone renovation. Initially constructed from bamboo and wood, it had deteriorated to the point where it was no longer safe or functional. This was the primary reason MTXL Axiata, in partnership with the Nusantara Mosque Foundation, decided to completely rebuild the prayer room, starting in early July 2024, using endowment funds.

Meanwhile, the construction of clean water facilities at the Al Muhajirin Prayer Room aims to meet the clean water needs of the residents of Bojong Menteng Village. The construction began in late May 2024 and was completed by the end of June 2024. With the inauguration of this clean water facility, about 50 households, or roughly 200 individuals, now have access to clean water for both religious practices and everyday needs.

Zakat, infaq, and endowment, as part of MTXL Axiata's routine programs, offer XL Axiata employees a means to contribute to solving the social challenges faced by communities within XL Axiata’s service areas, including constructing mosques and clean water facilities. On this occasion, MTXL Axiata also distributed donations to orphans. MTXL Axiata remains committed to spreading goodwill and strengthening ties with diverse community groups across various regions.
