Jakarta, March 10th 2021. In supporting the government programs and government directives to participate in helping Covid-19 patients, PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) held a convalescent plasma donation activity by inviting employees who had tested positive for Covid-19 virus, Tuesday (9/3). This activity is in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of the Province of DKI Jakarta, where the collected blood donors will be immediately handed over to the institution to be distributed to people suffering from Covid-19 who need convalescent plasma assistance. This blood donation program is part of the XL Axiata Baik program, which is a form of commitment and goodwill from the board of directors and employees of XL Axiata, Covid-19 survivors who want to do good to others and the hopes of the company (XL Axiata) to make this as an inspiration for XL Axiata employees and the public to become a domino effect on other good things.
Chief Human Capital Officer of XL Axiata, M.Hira Kurnia said, "Blood with convalescent plasma is needed for the therapy of people exposed to Covid-19. This plasma is also very rare and difficult to obtain. Therefore, considering that some of our employees are Covid-19 survivors, we took the initiative to collect plasma from them to be able to help people in need."
This activity is carried out at XL Axiata office in Jakarta while still implementing strict health protocol rules, as well as conducting a screening process through an antigen swab test and health check that is carried out before donors are drawn for blood. Hira added that this activity was also a form of gratitude from employees for their recovery.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, XL Axiata has continued to implement strict health protocols at all head offices and regional offices as well as XL Center customer service centers. In addition to implementing strict health protocols, XL Axiata also implements a work from the home system with the rule of working from the office twice a month, with the number of employees working in the office being 25% of the total employees in one building.
In addition, all employees who will work from the office will first be subjected to an antigen swab, to ensure that no transmission occurs while employees are working in the office and ensure the safety and comfort of employees while working in the office. Not only applying strict rules, XL Axiata periodically continues to closely monitor the daily health of employees by XL Axiata Covid-19 Task Force team, both those working in the office and at home in the internal health reporting system. Education to employees and employees' families through webinars is continuously provided with the aim that the spread of Covid-19 in the family cluster can be avoided.
