Jakarta, May 3rd 2020. The commitment of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) in supporting continuity of the Madrasah education development programs. The Directorate General of Islamic Education, Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) and XL Axiata launched the latest program, the Digital Madrasah Academy (AMD) 2020. Through the AMD 2020, Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students are expected to learn about the basics of digitalization in order to improve capabilities in the face of the industrial revolution 4.0. The implementation of this program will use a digital platform at the XL Axiata X-Camp IOT (Internet of Things) Laboratory.
Director of KSKK Madrasah, Directorate General of Islamic Education of Kemenag, Dr. H Ahmad Umar, MA. said, “Together with XL Axiata, we are running a series of programs that were initiated to foster the spirit of digitalization of Madrasah Aliyah students today. Preceded by the distribution of high-speed internet facilities up to 800 MA throughout 2018-2019, then continued with the Madrasah BootCamp, XL Axiata now presents the Digital Madrasah 2020 Academy. Through this AMD 2020 program we hope that the capabilities of MA students will continue to increase, especially related to achieving the need of competency according to the Industrial Revolution 4.0.”
Meanwhile, Group Head Corporate Communication of XL Axiata, Tri Wahyuningsih stated, “The 2020 Digital Madrasah Academy was specifically designed by looking at the needs of the Madrasah Aliyah students in Indonesia. Participants who pass the selection will get a series of online training through e-learn ( https://elearn.id/ ) and offline channels filled with a series of supporting material. XL Axiata will also involve a number of experienced employees to directly support this program. We hope this program can encourage all participants to implement thoughts and ideas to become a useful product, high technology value, and can enter the market."
The AMD 2020 program is open to students of State and Private Madrasah institutes throughout Indonesia in the 11th grade. For the first batch of this year’s AMD program, 100 participants will be accepted. Registration for AMD 2020 has begun since April 17th and will continue until May 31st 2020 through the program’s official website( https://madrasah.kemenag.go.id/akademidigital ). In addition to personal data, potential participants are also required to explain the prototypes of their own scientific invention or creation, both those that have been made and those that are still in the planning phase through video or writing formats.
The process of evaluating scientific papers will take place on June 1st to 6th 2020. The assessment and selection will be carried out directly by XL Axiata together with the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Results of the selection will be announced through the official channels of both XL Axiata and Ministry of Religious Affairs on June 7th 2020. Confirmation of participants' willingness to take part in the training will be announced on June 7th to 9th 2020. Furthermore, participants will start attending all online and offline training for a period of six months. This program does not charge any fees for participants.
The online training will take place on June 10th until September 15th 2020 then continued with offline training which certainly relies on the development of the current emergency situation of the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. Materials that will be taught within this program will include; Digital Mindset, Digital Ecosystem, Design Thinking, Agile Mindset, and Business Setup. After the training, students will be directed to make a prototype of an Internet of Things (IoT) based digital creation or invention that suits the needs of the community.
