Pandeglang, 4 Febuary 2022. Employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through Majlis Ta'lim XL Axiata (MTXL), distributed aid for the victims of the Banten Earthquake. The assistance was distributed to around 40 families, residents of Padasuka Village, Cimanggu District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. Gaddafi Ali Maskur and Usep Saepudin, representatives of XL Axiata Area Pandeglang, handed over the aid directly last Thursday (27/1). Also witnessing the handing over of aid were the Padasuka Village Head, Banten Provincial Government staff, and several local community leaders.
Chairman of MTXL, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya said, “This assistance is one part of the MTXL Disaster Response Program which aims to help Indonesian people who need assistance. This assistance is also a manifestation of the concern of XL Axiata employees to ease the burden on the Pandeglang community who are facing a disaster. After all, XL Axiata has long been part of the Pandeglang community. We should be helping people. Hopefully this help can be useful.”
The assistance from XL Axiata employees is in the form of a package of building materials to help the community repair their damaged houses, the impact of the earthquake. The procurement for this assistance was collected from donations from XL Axiata employees' infaq/sodaqoh funds managed by MTXL.
All funds collected through MTXL Disaster Response Program were channelled directly by holding various social actions for the Indonesian people in various regions. Apart from being distributed in the form of emergency assistance to disaster-affected areas, funds from employees are also channelled into various social activities, such as the construction and renovation of village bridges, mosque construction, power plants, house renovations, up to refill water depots.
Regarding XL Axiata services after the earthquake, the overall XL Axiata network throughout the Pandeglang Regency is in a safe condition. Although there were several BTSs that were affected by the blackout by the authorities as an anticipatory measure for the safety of the people affected by the earthquake, services to subscribers continued to run normally due to strengthening and network engineering around the disaster site. Throughout the district, service to subscribers is supported by more than 1,000 BTS.
XL Axiata continues to monitor and ensure that currently services remain normal in most areas affected by the earthquake. The XL Axiata team strives to maintain the quality of telecommunication and data networks in disaster-affected areas, both by ensuring the operation of infrastructure and by engineering network. Anticipatory steps have been taken by the XL Axiata technical team to deal with various possibilities of natural disasters in a number of disaster-prone areas in all provinces in Indonesia. This needs to be done to ensure the condition of the network infrastructure, as well as to distribute aid to communities affected by disasters.
