Bogor, 2 July 2022. Employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through Majlis Taklim XL Axiata (MTXL Axiata), distributed emergency assistance to residents of flash flood victims in Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency, West Java Province. Head of Sales XL Axiata of Bogor-Sukabumi Area, Miko Ahmad, handed over assistance through the officer of Bhayangkara Community Security and Order Trustees (Bhabinkamtibmas) of Puraseda, Brigadier Adri Kurniawan at the Office of Puraseda Village Head, Leuwiliang District, Thursday (30/6).
Head of MTXL Axiata, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya said, “This assistance is one of the parts of the program of MTXL Axiata Disaster Response which aims to help Indonesian people who need assistance. This assistance is also a manifestation of the concern of XL Axiata employees to ease the burden on the Leuwiliang community who are facing a flash flood disaster. We are sorry for the tragedy that occurred and express our deep sympathy for the victims and may they always be given strength and fortitude in facing this ordeal.”
The emergency assistance from XL Axiata employees was in the form of packages of basic daily needs in the form of rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, sugar, tea, and sweet soy sauce. The procurement for this assistance was collected from the zakat of XL Axiata employees which is managed by MTXL Axiata.
All funds collected through the MTXL Axiata Disaster Response Program were distributed directly by holding various social actions for the Indonesian people in various regions. Apart from being distributed in the form of emergency assistance to disaster-affected areas, funds from employees are also distributed in various social activities, such as the construction and renovation of village bridges, construction of mosques, power plants, house renovations, to refill water depots.
XL Axiata Network is Guaranteed to be Safe
Regarding XL Axiata services during the flash flood that occurred on Wednesday (22/6), the entire XL Axiata network infrastructure in the Pamijahan and Leuwiliang areas is in safe condition. Service to customers continues to run normally due to network strengthening and engineering at several XL Axiata BTS in the vicinity of the disaster site. Throughout the regency, services to customers are supported by more than 2,600 BTS, of which more than 1,700 BTS are 4G BTS.
XL Axiata continues to monitor and ensure that currently services remain normal in most areas affected by flash floods. The XL Axiata team strives to maintain the quality of telecommunication and data networks in disaster-affected areas, both by ensuring the operation of infrastructure and by network engineering. Anticipatory steps have been carried out by the XL Axiata technical team to deal with various possible natural disasters in a number of disaster-prone areas throughout the province since the start of increasing rainfall. This needs to be done to ensure the condition of the network infrastructure, as well as to distribute aid to communities affected by disasters.
