Medan, 26 October 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) supports stunting prevention programs in various regions. As an implementation, in collaboration with several government agencies, XL Axiata distributes donations of healthy food packages to prevent stunting to the children from poor families. This program has been implemented, among others, in Medan City, North Sumatra Province, Banten Province and North Central Timor Regency, Malacca Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
In Medan, the Head of the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (TPPS) in Medan City who is also the Deputy Mayor of Medan, H. Aulia Rachman, S.E and Group Head of XL Axiata West Region Desy Sari Dewi, symbolically handed over healthy food packages to prevent stunting to children at Grha XL Medan, Jalan Diponegoro, Medan, North Sumatra, Wednesday (26/10). The healthy food packages to prevent stunting include rice, green beans, eggs, cooking oil, sugar and others.
Desy Sari Dewi said, "As part of the people of Medan City and other regions in Indonesia, XL Axiata feels responsible to see the social problems faced by the community and which are now the government's attention, including stunting prevention. Hopefully, this donation will benefit children who need it, and can inspire other business actors to participate in this stunting prevention movement."
Meanwhile, the distribution of healthy food packages in NTT was carried out by XL Axiata together with the regional office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. In two villages, namely Humusu Village, North Insana District, North Central Timor Regency, and South Alas Village, East Motamasin District, Malaka Regency. XL Axiata is collaborating with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.
Desy added, in implementing the stunting prevention program in Medan, XL Axiata cooperates with the Medan City Government. In addition, XL Axiata also cooperates with BenihBaik.com to distribute and ensure that all healthy food packages can be well received by the beneficiaries by the specified time.
H. Aulia Rachman, S.E added, “I appreciate what XL Axiata has done who cares about children in Medan City. The support provided by distributing healthy food certainly helps the Medan City Government in improving the nutritional quality of toddlers and reducing stunting in Medan City. Currently, in Medan there are around 550 stunting children, this prevention is not only carried out by the government, but community awareness is expected to also understand stunting. Thank God, so far the number of stunting in Medan City is decreasing, this is thanks to the support of all parties who care about children in Medan City, including XL Axiata.”
Blood Donor Helps Cancer Patients
XL Axiata also held a blood donor to help children with cancer in Medan. The activity, which was participated by XL Axiata employees through the XL Axiata Baik program in Medan, was in collaboration with the Medan City Government and several communities. They are the Indonesian Photojournalist (PFI) in Medan, the Indonesian Women's Journalist Forum (FJPI) in North Sumatra, the Health Journalists Forum (Forwakes) in North Sumatra, the Medan Children's Oncology Foundation (YOAM), and the UTD RSUP H Adam Malik.
Blood donor which is currently being carried out, was previously routinely carried out every 3 months since 2012 with the Medan Children's Oncology Foundation (YOAM). But since the pandemic, blood donor has never been done again, we will do it again routinely every 3 months to carry out blood donor to help cancer children in Medan.
H. Aulia Rachman, S.E added that blood donor is not only beneficial for blood donor recipients, but also very good for the health of the donor. This activity can certainly help cancer children who really need blood, because blood needs are urgent for these children.
The blood donor, which was held at Grha XL Medan, managed to collect 52 bags of blood from various levels of society, including XL Axiata employees, which will be donated directly to YOAM for further distribution to children with cancer.
