Both projects are ready for use and are located in Talang Lubuk Village, Sumber Marga Telang District. Being built from December 2021, these projects use funds from XL Axiata management and employees. Present at the inauguration were among others Regent of Banyuasin, H. Askolani Jasi, S.H., M.H; President Director & CEO of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), Dian Siswarini; Expert Staff for Government, Law, and Politics, South Sumatra Province, Dr. IR. H. Firmansyah, M.Sc; Group Head of XL Axiata for West Region, Desy Sari Dewi; President of Human Initiative, Tomy Hendrajati; Chairman of XL Axiata Ta'lim Council, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya; Head of Talang Lubuk Village, Sanusi; and local community leaders.
Dian Siswarini said, "Praise be to God, clean water facility and village bridge have been completed for the benefit of the village community and its surroundings. We would like to thank all parties who have helped realize the construction of these two waqfs. It is an honor for XL Axiata management and employees to be able to directly build public facilities urgently needed by the community in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. Hopefully, this clean water facility and village bridge will bring benefits to the people of Talang Lubuk Village and its surroundings."
Dian Siswarini added that this waqf fund came from the management and employees of XL Axiata to help people in need. XL Axiata is committed to continuously increasing its contribution to society as a form of concern through sustainable CSR programs. Now, XL Axiata proves its commitment by building clean water facility and village bridge in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. In 2022, XL Axiata built a mosque in Aceh that was inaugurated in March 2022.
This village bridge spans 70 meters over the Talang Lubuk Village river, connecting Hamlet 1 with Hamlet 2 of Talang Lubuk Village, which can cut the distance traveled by residents to surrounding areas in carrying out daily social and economic activities. As the support, the bridge uses number-one quality wood. The construction process took about eight months and was completed in August 2022.
Meanwhile, the clean water facility is also located in Talang Lubuk Village and has long been expected by the local community. Surface water sources in this village are abundant, but the quality is very low; too high in salt that it tastes salty and brackish. The clean water facility built by XL Axiata uses filtering technology to provide clean water suitable for various daily needs.
Waqf, as one of the routine programs of XL Axiata Ta'lim Council (MTXL), is part of the corporate social responsibility program. On the same occasion, XL Axiata also distributed donations for orphans. The funds for the construction of the clean water facility and the bridge in Banyuasin, South Sumatra, are waqf funds managed by XL Axiata Ta'lim Council to be distributed to the people entitled to receive them. MTXL Axiata strives to continue spreading kindness to establish friendships with various community groups and regions. This clean water facility and village bridge construction program is in collaboration with social welfare institution Human Initiative.
Banyuasin Regent, H. Askolani Jasi, S.H., M.H, said "We are very grateful to MTXL Axiata and XL Axiata employees for the assistance and attention given to our village. The existence of this clean water facility and bridge has indeed been our hope for a long time. We will make the most of them and, of course, also take care of them."
On the same occasion, the CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini, also took the time to visit the BTS around the location of the inauguration ceremony of the bridge and the clean water. In Banyuasin Regency, XL Axiata has 154 4G BTS that cover 303 villages and 19 districts. XL Axiata's data and telecommunication services support the economy of the local community, most of whom are farmers and fishermen.
