Bengkulu, 2 November 2021. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) together with the Employee Ta'lim Council (MTXL) distributed assistance to communities affected by the floods that hit Bengkulu City. Assistance provided in the form of basic daily necessities. Territory Sales Manager of XL Axiata Bengkulu area, Zuhdianto, handed over aid directly to residents which was symbolically received by Linda (38 years) one of the residents who became victims at the flood location in Grand Korpri Housing, Bentiring Village, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City, Monday ( 1/11).
XL Axiata West Region Group Head, Desy Sari Dewi said, “This assistance is a form of our concern to help the people of Bengkulu city which is currently being hit by floods. This condition is also a concern for MTXL Axiata to participate in providing assistance to flood victims. We hope that with the assistance we are given, we can ease the burden on the flood victims.”
Desy added that assistance in the form of basic daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, “teh kotak” (tea in a box) and instant noodles was urgently needed by the people who were currently affected by the floods in the city of Bengkulu. The XL Axiata team in the field will continue to monitor the development of conditions at the disaster site, including monitoring the condition of the XL Axiata network infrastructure to ensure that services are not disrupted. So far, no XL Axiata network infrastructure has been disrupted due to this flood.
The flood that hit Bengkulu City occurred on Friday, 19 October 2021 and affected more than 500 families in Bengkulu City. Floods have inundated thousands of people's homes and damaged their property.
"We are very grateful for the help and attention of XL Axiata and MTXL Axiata. Only Allah can repay all of this," said Linda, one of the residents who became victims of the flood in Bengkulu.
