Magetan, April 10th 2021. The President Director & CEO of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), Dian Siswarini, directly inaugurated the mosque which is the waqf of the company's employees and management. The Sadiah binti Hadad Gandadiwirja Mosque, which has just finished its construction, is located in Claket Hamlet, Bulugunung Village, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency, East Java. Regent of Magetan Regency, Drs. Suprawoto also watched it online.
Regent of Magetan Regency, Drs. Suprawoto said, "On behalf of the residents of Magetan Regency and especially the residents of Bulugunung Village, Plaosan, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Dian Siswarini and the extended family of XL Axiata who gave us a very valuable gift, namely this magnificent and beautiful mosque. Moreover, we will be entering Ramadan in a few days, so this is a wonderful gift. I hope that the people of Bulugunung Village will protect this mosque as well as possible, so that it can be a place of worship and also a center for social activities."
Meanwhile, Dian Siswarini expressed her gratitude that the construction of the mosque was completed faster than previously thought, so that it can sooner be utilized by the community. “We would like to thank all parties who have helped in the realization of the construction of this waqf mosque, including the support from the Regent. It is an honor for us that the management and employees of XL Axiata can participate in building public facilities that are needed by the community. Hopefully this mosque will bring great blessings to the people of Bulugunung Village and its surroundings.”
The construction of the Sadiah binti Hadad Gandadiwirja mosque began in early December 2020, at a cost of around Rp. 1.2 billion which came from waqf funds from management, employees, and loyal customers of XL Axiata. To realize this development, XL Axiata collaborated with Rumah Zakat Indonesia. The Waqf Program is one of the routine programs of the XL Axiata Taklim Council (MTXL) which is part of the corporate social responsibility program.
The construction of the waqf mosque is a waqf development project that was inaugurated for the first time in 2021. Previously, the Waqf Bridge in Lebak Banten and the Waqf of the Electrical Energy Center in West Kalimantan was built in 2020.
Sadiah binti Hadad Gandadiwirja Mosque consists of two floors with an area of 240 square meters, and stands on an area of 500 square meters. With such a size, this mosque can accommodate around 120 worshipers. This waqf mosque is in an area with Ibn Abbas' Tahfidz House. In addition to a space for worship, this mosque also has a multipurpose room for service activities to the community, such as educational activities, recitation, taklim, as well as meetings. In order to support the smooth running of residents' activities, XL Axiata has also installed a complete set of internet routers with a free 20GB data package that will be filled every month for a year.
On the same occasion, XL Axiata’s Taklim Council also distributed donation for orphans. XL Axiata will cooperate with Rumah Zakat Indonesia and will also provide assistance for the next 1 year in the form of counseling and training to maximize the use of the facilities available in this waqf mosque. In addition, in 2021 MTXL has also distributed zakat funds for the Livestock Development Village program in the form of 1000 Laying Chickens in Lamongan, East Java Province, and Smart Farm Academy in South Sumatra Province in the form of hand tractors, pumps, “pantek” wells, and plant seeds. In the 2 aforementioned zakat programs, practical and theoretical training is provided for cultivation, packaging, and marketing. As well as “Lapak Berkah” in the Jabodetabek area which is intended for residents affected by layoffs during the current pandemic.
