Jakarta, 13 June 2021. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) has once again won an award from the public, which was achieved due to the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG) throughout 2020. This award was received in the event "The 12th IICD Corporate Governance Awards", organized by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Directorship (IICD). XL Axiata won two awards simultaneously, namely the Top 50 Big Capitalization Public Listed Company and Best Non-Financial Sector for Big Capitalization Public Listed Company.
XL Axiata's President Director & CEO, Dian Siswarini said, "We have to implement Good Corporate Governance (GCG) while keeping in mind that XL Axiata is a public company. As a result, we have an obligation to carry out GCG to the best of our abilities, as it is our professional responsibility. This award is certainly an indication that our efforts in regards to the implementation of GCG is suitable and in accordance with the expectations of stakeholders.”
The Top 50 Big Capitalization Public Listed Company awards are given to the 50 issuers with the largest market capitalization who practice the best corporate governance in Indonesia. The assessment is carried out using a method based on the Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard. Meanwhile, the Best Non-Financial Sector category is given to issuers engaged in business fields other than the financial sector that implements the best GCG practices among other non-financial sector issuers based on the assessment from the IICD.
Almost every year, XL Axiata receives recognition for their implementation of GCG. This award marks the 12th time XL Axiata has received recognition in this category since 2013. In previous years, XL Axiata also won a similar award, specifically from the IDX Channel Anugerah Inovasi Indonesia for the category of Sustainability – Good Corporate Governance, in 2020.
