Palembang, 18 October 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) through the XL Axiata Peduli program assists communities affected by smog in South Sumatra (Sumsel) and Jambi. In collaboration with the Benih Baik Foundation (Benihbaik.com), XL Axiata distributed healthy food packages to people living in Lubuk Rumpai Village, Rupit District, North Musi Rawas Regency, at the RSS Bhakti Guna Housing Complex, Tj Seketo Village, and at Alam Indralaya Lestari Housing, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, on Wednesday (18/10). The aid packages distributed contained masks, vitamins, eye drops, and milk.
Meanwhile, in Jambi, aid packages were distributed at Laman Basamo Field, Jalan HA Kamil, Sarolangun District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province, on October 18, 2023.
Head of Sales for XL Axiata in the Greater Palembang-Bengkulu area, Budi Utama Lubis, and the Territory Sales Manager for XL Axiata in the Palembang-Ogan Ilir area, Yuswardi, went directly to hand over aid to residents at RSS Bhakti Guna Housing, South Sumatra and Territory Sales Manager for XL Axiata in the Muara Bungo area, Febby Septian Driwoka handed over aid to residents at Laman Basamo Sarolangun Square, Jambi, Wednesday (18/10).
XL Axiata West Region Group Head, Desy Sari Dewi said, "We are concerned to see the smog disaster that is occurring in South Sumatra, Jambi and several other cities/regencies. XL Axiata is fully aware of the urgency of this situation and its impact on the lives of local communities. With air pollution levels reaching dangerous status, even requiring students to go to school from home, we at XL Axiata decided to provide assistance that can at least reduce the impact of exposure to smog on people's health, especially children and the elderly. That's why we distributed aid in the form of masks, vitamins, eye drops, and milk. We hope that this smog disaster will pass quickly."
According to Desy, XL Axiata's efforts to provide assistance to victims of smog in South Sumatra and Jambi are part of the company's commitment to carrying out corporate social responsibility. To date, there are around 5,250 BTS spread across all cities and regencies in South Sumatra and there are 1,890 BTS in Jambi.
