Jakarta, 17 November 2022, PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) supports the Indonesian government in the implementation of the 7th ASEAN Children Forum (ACF) 2022. XL Axiata was entrusted by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia (KemenPPPA) to participate in the program with the theme "Building a Digital Resiliency for ASEAN Children". XL Axiata becomes one of the destinations of the visit program of the Children Forum delegates from 10 ASEAN member states, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini, welcomed the delegates at XL Axiata Tower, Jakarta, Thursday (17/11).

Dian Siswarini said, "It is an honor for XL Axiata to be trusted by the government to support the Children Forum visit program of ASEAN countries. Under the theme raised, we, as a telecommunications company that continues to adapt to digital technology, will be happy to share knowledge and experience and also provide recommendations through exposure and discussion about digital resilience. It is hoped that all the results of the discussions held at XL Axiata can be a reference for them while participating in this program in Indonesia."

During their visit to XL Axiata headquarters, the ASEAN Children Forum delegates underwent a series of office tour activities, including visiting the X-Camp Lab, a product laboratory for Internet of Things (IoT)-based digital solutions. They also received exposure and discussion opportunities related to digital resilience, which included topics on the Internet of Things (IoT), networks, and social media.

The Assistant Deputy for Fulfillment of Civil Rights, Information, and Child Participation, Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Rr. Endah Sri Rejeki, SE, MIDEA, Ph.D., conveyed that KemenPPPA and XL Axiata had established good cooperation in various programs and activities, starting from increasing the capacity of women micro business actors through the use of digital technology up to active involvement in the implementation of the G20 and other forms of cooperation.

"For this reason, when designing the site visit agenda for the 7th ACF activity carrying the theme of building digital resiliency, XL Axiata becomes one of the main choices to visit. With XL Axiata's experience as the first private cellular company in Indonesia, we hope that this visit and the experience-sharing session can enrich ASEAN children's insights on digital literacy, children's resilience and participation in digital technology, as well as children's safety in the digital world," Endah further explained.

Indonesia is hosting the 7th ASEAN Children Forum (7th ACF) in a hybrid manner on November 15-20, 2022. The forum, organized by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) and supported by the ASEAN Secretariat, UNICEF, and the Indonesian National Children's Forum, is attended by approximately 70 children between the ages of 12 and 18, along with their chaperones.

Taking "Building a Digital Resiliency for ASEAN Children" as the grand theme, the program is further translated into three sub-themes: digital literacy, children's resilience and participation in digital technology, and digital safety.

The forum promotes children's fundamental rights, especially the right to participate in and build peaceful societies, and ensures child development at the individual, institutional, community, national, and regional levels for the best interests of children in the ASEAN region.

Representatives from each delegation will also be invited to attend Indonesia's World Children's Day celebration, which will be held in Manado on November 20, 2022, as part of the summit.
