President Joko Widodo Visits Sentra Vaksinasi Indonesia Bangkit

Depok, 9 June 2021. The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, visited Sentra Vaksinasi Indonesia Bangkit (the Rising Indonesia Vaccination Center) in Depok, and observed the anti Covid-19 vaccination activities that was organized by PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) and the University of Indonesia (UI) Hospital or Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (RSUI). During this visit, the President witnessed firsthand the vaccine injections provided to elderly citizens who hold National ID cards, as well as their chaperones. Also present during this visit include the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, the Chancellor of UI,  Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D, and the Director of RSUI, dr. Astuti Giantini. This Vaccination Center has been operating since March 2021, and its operation will be extended until the end of July 2021.

XL Axiata President Director & CEO Dian Siswarini said, “Until now, the Rising Indonesia Vaccination Center has administered Covid-19 vaccinations to more than 31 thousand people. In addition to elderly citizens aged 60 years and over, vaccinations have also been given to teachers and lecturers, volunteers, healthcare workers, and public servants such as public transportation workers, both motorcycle taxis and angkot drivers. Within one day, the Vaccination Center is able to administer vaccine injections to up to 1,000 people. We are very happy that the Rising Indonesia Vaccination Center has so far been able to help the government in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic.”

President Joko Widodo took the time to observe the vaccinations, whether carried out by thru at the RSUI Parking Building, or by walk-in which took place inside RSUI. The President was also seen talking with residents who received the vaccinations, medical personnel who carried out the vaccinations, and RSUI as one of the organizers of the Rising Indonesia Vaccination Center. 

The vaccination process that takes place at RSUI is carried out in accordance with government directives, and is also under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and other authorized institutions. To ensure the elderly can receive these services with ease, the Depok City Government also carries out a shuttle program for the elderly living in various sub-districts. In order to ensure smooth implementation, every day this vaccination center receives support from more than 130 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, security officers, and administration. They come from the UI Alumni Association, XL Axiata employees and RSUI medical personnel. 

The Rising Indonesia Vaccination Center also receives support from a number of XL Axiata partners, namely Benihbaik.com, Protelindo, Tower Bersama Group, and Alita. In addition, support also comes from the Depok City Health Office, the West Java Provincial Government, the Depok City Government, as well as the UI Alumni Association.

Residents who wish to take part in vaccinations are required to register online through the www.xlaxiata.co.id/indonesiabangkit page by completing personal data validation as well as verify the health conditions of prospective vaccine participants. Prior to the injection of the vaccine, participants will undergo a physical condition check carried out according to RSUI health standards. The Rising Indonesia Vaccine Center operates Monday-Friday (excluding holidays), from 08.00 WIB to 14.00 WIB every day (maximum arrival at 13.00 WIB).
