JAKARTA, SEPTEMBER 2, 2024. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) through AXIS is once again organizing the largest high school futsal tournament in Indonesia, the “AXIS Nation Cup 2024”. This event is also one of the biggest youth-oriented ‘sportainment’ events in Indonesia. Futsal, being one of the most popular sports among students, is the reason AXIS is organizing a tournament on an even grander scale than last year, with full support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMENPORA RI) and the Indonesian Futsal Federation. The AXIS Nation Cup 2024 will take place in 40 cities, involving 1,650 schools and a total of 16,500 athletes from various regions in Indonesia. Moreover, AXIS Nation Cup 2024 has introduced a new category, Women's Futsal. The total prize money for the winners amounts to IDR 870 million.

Through AXIS, XL Axiata aims to engage the student and university market, which is one of the potential and long-term segments. With this in mind, all participants in the AXIS Nation Cup 2024 will be provided with up to 2GB of daily data for an entire year.
AXIS Nation Cup 2024 will be held in the following regions: West (Sumatra), Jabo (and surrounding areas), Central (West Java & Central Java), East (East Java & Bali), Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. Some of the cities include Padang, Pekanbaru, Lampung, Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Denpasar, Mataram, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Pontianak, Manado, and Makassar.
Registration for this futsal tournament began in July 2024. The preliminary rounds will be held throughout September 2024, followed by the qualification rounds scheduled for October 2024. The final round is set for November 16, 2024, at Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno. The tournament also includes female student participants from 5 cities: Lampung, Palembang, Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. A total prize of IDR 870 million, along with a training camp for the top five athletes, is at stake.
