Jakarta, 23 September 2019, ahead of its 23rd anniversary in October, PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) keeps innovating to provide customers with easier access to data service and improve service quality based on customer needs. The move will allow more Indonesian customers to enjoy data network provided by XL Axiata.
One of the latest innovative products for XL Axiata prepaid customers is “Xtra Kuota Zero”. The new package allows XL prepaid customers who have subscribed the Xtra Combo package to get additional quota of up to 3GB of additional quota for free through New MyXL to access selected applications. Xtra Kuota Zero is expected to provide a complete service to customers, particularly in their daily digital activities.
XL Axiata Chief Marketing Officer David Arcelus Oses said, “We always try to satisfy our customers. We hope we can retain our existing customers and increase their number and the traffic. The challenge is how to accommodate different needs of more than 56 million customers. This encouraged us to innovate and release the Xtra Kuota Zero package.”
David Arcelus added that data usage by XL Axiata customers keeps growing significantly. In the first half of 2019, XL Axiata data users accounted for 88% of total customers. XL Axiata seeks to understand what customers need through previously launched products. Some of the customers need access to entertainment, video, music, games and other services. The Xtra Kuota Zero package was launched to fulfill different needs as customers have own preferences.
Xtra Kuota Zero from XL Prepaid gives free additional quota of up to 3GB per month to access selected apps. The additional quota is available for customers who have subscribed to Xtra Combo VIP, Xtra Combo Baru or other variants of Xtra Combo. The latest innovative package is available in two options. First, Xtra Kuota Zero Daily Package that provides apps to support daily activities, such as WhatsApp, Line, Twitter, Google Duo, Tokopedia, Gojek and, to be available soon, news portals such as Detik.com, Kompas.com and Liputan6.com. Second, Xtra Kuota Zero with Selected Apps such as Netflix, YouTube, iflix, Smule, Joox, Instagram, Facebook, Free Fire, AOV and PUBG Mobile that is valid for 10 days.
To get Xtra Kuota Zero daily or 10-day package, customers can subscribe to any Xtra Combo package, then access NEW myXL to activate. Xtra Kuota Zero is available starting from 19 September 2019.
Data network that is improving in quality and is more widely available has encouraged customers to access data services more frequently from a wider range of location. Based on the latest data on data service usage distribution, streaming service dominated with a ratio of 68%, instant messaging 17% and social media 15%. In the streaming service, access to video services (via YouTube, Facebook and Instagram) dominated with 64%. Other frequently accessed streaming services were games (25%).
Today, data users reached around 88% of XL Axiata’s 56.6 million customers. XL Axiata also keeps expanding networks and increasing their capacity across Indonesia. XL Axiata’s networks are supported by more than 127.000 BTS, including more than 53,000 3G BTS and more than 37,000 BTS 4G. XL Axiata keeps expanding its 4G LTE network to cover more than 408 cities/regencies in Indonesia. XL Axiata also continues investing in fiber network, transmission, backhaul, network modernization and other network upgrades to improve the stability and capacity of networks and the quality of data service as data traffic increases.
