Jakarta, 7 March 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) held a blood donation social action by employees. In collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and Majlis Taklim XL Axiata (MTXL), this event received welcome and support from Management and employees. President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini, also participated as a donor. With the theme "Setetes Darah untuk Kebaikan", the XL Axiata Baik - Blood Donation 2023 program took place at XL Axiata Tower, South Jakarta, Monday (6/3).
Chief Human Capital Officer of XL Axiata, M. Hira Kurnia, said, "This blood donation activity is a form of our concern for the community. This activity is also one of a series of XL Axiata programs to welcome the momentum of the holy month of Ramadan. According to data from PMI, during Ramadan there is a decrease in the number of blood stocks, so this activity really helps PMI to keep blood stocks available. No matter how much, blood will always be needed."
Starting at 09.00 WIB, this blood donation was attended by XL Axiata employees, including management. No less than 150 people donated their blood and more than 100 bags were collected.
Research shows that blood donation also provides health benefits, namely helping to reduce excess iron levels in the blood, stimulating the production of red blood cells, reducing the risk of cancer. In addition, blood donation can also be used to detect diseases, and each donation can help three or four individual recipients.
Previously, in 2021, together with PMI DKI Jakarta Province, XL Axiata also held blood donation and convalescent plasma donation activities which were attended by more than 200 donors. The activity succeeded in obtaining nearly 150 blood bags which were then distributed through PMI to the Indonesian people who needed blood and convalescent plasma. In addition, the same social activities have also been carried out by XL Axiata in various regions in collaboration with the local PMI and a number of social foundations.
