XL Axiata Peduli Delivered Donation to Flood-Affected Communities in West Sumatra

Padang, April 3, 2024. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through XL Axiata Peduli, continues to assist disaster victims in Indonesia. Currently, XL Axiata is providing assistance to flood victims in 3 sub-districts of Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, including Koto XI Tarusan District, Nagari Tambang District, and Batang Kapas District, on Tuesday (26/3).

 

Donations were distributed in the form of essential items such as rice, eggs, sugar, cooking oil, canned fish, bottled water, and medicines. These donations were directly distributed to resident representatives in each location. Additionally, the company ensures the continuity of XL Axiata network services to support the affected communities.

 

Desy Sari Dewi, XL Axiata West Region Group Head, said, "This assistance reflects our commitment to support the people of Indonesia, particularly those affected by floods in Pesisir Barat Regency, West Sumatra. We are deeply concerned about the flooding situation. Previously, we've also extended assistance during the Mount Marapi eruption in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, as part of our ongoing efforts to alleviate hardships faced by Indonesians. As for our network, it remains secure in disaster areas, with preparations made, including the availability of generators and network engineering support.”

 

Desy mentioned that XL Axiata is partnering with BenihBaik.com to efficiently distribute donations to flood victims in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, ensuring they reach their intended recipients. Despite the disaster, customer services remained uninterrupted as XL Axiata's network team reinforced and optimized network infrastructure in the affected area, enabling continued communication for individuals, victims, and disaster response officials. Maintaining operational telecommunications and data services is crucial during emergencies like today, serving as the primary communication lifeline for communities and authorities involved in disaster management.

 

Meanwhile, according to the report from the BNPB Operations Control Center (Pusdalops), 16 individuals have been confirmed deceased, with 76,178 others displaced as a result of floods and landslides in Pesisir Barat Regency.

 

Previously, XL Axiata extended aid to flood-affected communities in various regions, including Riau's Indragiri Hilir, Indragiri Hulu, and Pelalawan. Additionally, assistance was provided to flood victims in North Musi Rawas, South Sumatra, as well as in Grobogan, Demak, and Kudus, Central Java. Furthermore, support was also extended to individuals affected by the Mount Marapi eruption in Agam, West Sumatra.

 

 

XL Axiata employees distributed donations to flood-affected individuals in Padang City

 

PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) employees, through the XL Axiata Ta'lim Council (MTXL), recently provided urgent aid to flood-affected residents in Padang City, West Sumatra. The donation was directly delivered by Oktaviando Saipullah, Digital & Conventional Promotion XL Axiata in the West Sumatra - Jambi area, to local community representatives.

 

This initiative is a part of the MTXL Disaster Response Program, which aims to assist Indonesians in need. It reflects the genuine concern of XL Axiata employees in alleviating the challenges faced by communities affected by disasters. XL Axiata has been deeply ingrained in West Sumatra society for an extended period.

 

The urgent aid provided by XL Axiata employees consisted of essential packages containing rice, canned fish, soy sauce, tea, instant noodles, cooking oil, coffee, and eggs. Contributions for the MTXL Disaster Response Program were sourced from donations by both XL Axiata employees and management. These funds were directly allocated through a series of social initiatives aimed at assisting communities across Indonesia.
