Jakarta, 19 August 2022. Dian Siswarini visited a workshop for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta, today. The MSME players are members of the Sisternet community who are also winners of the W20 Sispreneur program. This visit aims to support female MSME players and commemorate MSME Day which falls every August 12.
Dian Siswarini said, “It's very nice to be able to see up close the production process and how female MSME friends run their businesses. XL Axiata highly appreciates the hard efforts of female MSME players throughout Indonesia, where their existence and presence have helped support the national economy during the pandemic. We are committed to supporting the government in accelerating the digitalization of innovative entrepreneurship for MSMEs towards national economic growth after the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Shinta Paramarti, a business player visited by the CEO of XL Axiata, is one of the winners of the W20 Sispreneur event, which is a program to increase the capacity of female MSME players with support from Women20 (W20). Shinta manages KainIndonesia.co which has been running a business in the fashion sector since the end of 2020. Currently, KainIndonesia.co has five employees with a turnover of around Rp. 10 million per month. The business capital that has been obtained from winning the W20 Sispreneur competition will be used to purchase machines and supporting equipment to increase its business so that it can be more well-known not only domestically, but also internationally.
“I got highly precious knowledge from amazing mentors from Sisternet, where the knowledge was beneficial and was an invaluable input for my business and that it truly made my business scale up. I did not expect that after going through several stages, KainIndonesia.co could reach the Top 10 and receive a capital prize and the opportunity to participate in Sispreneur. Hopefully, this event can be a bridge and the beginning for Indonesian women-led MSMEs to develop and continue to advance to support the Indonesian economy. I also hope other companies can also duplicate women's empowerment programs like Sisternet in their respective companies." said Sita.
W20 Sispreneur is a collaboration between the engagement group Women20 (W20) and Sisternet from PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata). This program has succeeded in attracting more than 1,000 participants. Furthermore, the 10 best MSMEs are entitled to participate in a product exhibition at the G20 peak event in the Lake Toba area, North Sumatra, in July 2022. Appreciations for the 10 best MSMEs are in the form of business capital of Rp. 300 million in total. Furthermore, participants will receive online MSME assistance through chat groups and FGDs, showcases for MSME products, mentoring with online assignment facilitators, and pre-test and post-test on business assistance by global-level MSME experts.
Through the Sisternet program, XL Axiata has been running a support program for women-led MSMEs since 2015. This program is in the form of support by increasing digital literacy for female MSME players to be able to adapt and increase marketing to a wider area. This program has held more than 300 literacy classes with more than 200 thousand female participants from almost all parts of Indonesia. To date, more than 55 thousand MSMEs owned by women have received support from XL Axiata, and XL Axiata has managed to level up the businesses of more than 2,000 women-led MSMEs through the Sispreneur program.
Still related to support for women-led MSMEs, previously, XL Axiata has also held the Kompetisi Modal Pintar 2022 program. This competition is a continuation of the Sisternet Smart Webinar Festival program that took place in December 2021 and was attended by more than 1,500 participants. The participants of this competition are MSME players who join the Sisternet application that can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and Google Playstore.
