Jakarta, 23 May 2021. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) partners with NTT Ltd. to build a private cloud-based information technology (IT) infrastructure. This collaboration will help XL Axiata prepare the information technology ecosystem as a whole, which also includes supporting the company in preparing the 5G ecosystem.
Director & Chief Technology Officer of XL Axiata, I Gede Darmayusa, said, “To implement a 5G service network, we need comprehensive readiness both in terms of networks and also a strong supporting ecosystem. This cooperation with NTT forms part of our efforts to strengthen our system.”
Meanwhile, the CEO of NTT Indonesia Solutions, Hendra Lesmana, stated that his company has established strong relationships with numerous technology providers. For this reason, NTT is optimistic that it will be able to provide maximum support to XL Axiata in an effort to unify its cloud-based infrastructure.
“We are proud to have gained XL Axiata’s trust. Most of our clients aim to accelerate their cloud migration as part of their digital transformation journey, but many are held back by the complexity of consolidating their legacy infrastructure and fierce market competition in today’s telecommunications landscape.”
According to Hendra, by integrating solutions from VMware, Cisco, F5, Check Point, Dell, Veeam, and McAfee into one integrated cloud-based IT infrastructure solution, NTT consolidates end-to-end components such as servers, data storage, networks and security. In doing so, XL Axiata can accelerate its service agility, as well as simplify network and security configuration in order to maintain market dominance and strong network leadership.
The solution built by NTT also enables XL Axiata to automate its provisioning processes and repetitive IT service requests, in addition to centralizing its operational IT model. Other benefits include supporting XL Axiata to improve its IT resource productivity and simplify data backup recovery operations. As a result, XL Axiata will be able to enjoy reduced costs and increased end-to-end visibility for each division, unlocking more potential for future developments while still being able to control incurred costs.
