Medan, March 6, 2024. XL Axiata employees together with the journalist community in Medan came together for a regular blood donation event at the Grha XL Medan office, Wednesday (6/3). The results of this social action will be given to the Medan Children's Oncology Foundation (YOAM) to help children with cancer. Additionally, as the month of Ramadan approaches, XL Axiata employees also distributed aid to orphans and those in need in the form of food packages.
Desy Sari Dewi, XL Axiata West Region Group Head, expressed, "XL Axiata employees together with the journalist community in Medan regularly organize monthly blood donation activities to support children with cancer. This is a form of XL Axiata's concern for children suffering with cancer. Today, we’re also helping orphans and those in need, as a token of gratitude for our achievement so far. XL Axiata together with the journalist community provide support through blood donation activities that not only bring positive impacts for the children who received the blood, but also for the donors to be healthier."
Desy mentioned that blood donation is now seen as important for maintaining health. People are realizing the personal benefits of donating. Today's drive had 42 participants, resulting in 40 blood bags collected. These donations will go directly to the Medan Children's Oncology Foundation (YOAM) to help children with cancer who require blood assistance.
This event also included members from various organizations such as Indonesian Photojournalists (PFI) Medan, North Sumatra Indonesian Women Journalists Forum (FJPI), North Sumatra Health Journalists Forum (Forwakes), XL Axiata Employees, MTXL Axiata, Medan Children's Oncology Foundation (YOAM), RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan, and members of the public.
Blood donation drives at XL Axiata have been happening regularly since 2012, held every three months. This blood donation activity is always eagerly anticipated by donors as they have experienced numerous benefits from donating regularly.
Donating blood offers numerous benefits, including lowering the risk of heart and blood vessel diseases, reducing the risk of cancer, aiding weight loss, detecting serious illnesses, and promoting psychological well-being.
The upcoming blood donation event at XL Axiata, in collaboration with the journalist community, is scheduled for June 2024. It's part of XL Axiata’s monthly routine to maintain good health and support children battling cancer.
PFI Medan Celebrates 20th Anniversary and Management Inauguration at Grha XL Medan
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Indonesian Photojournalists (PFI) Medan and the introduction of the new management for 2023-2026, a special event was held at Graha XL Medan on Wednesday (6/3). Attendees included the Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Police Commissioner Hadi Wahyudi, Chair of the North Sumatra Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Farianda Putra Sinik, Head of Matfa Village, Langkat, Tuwan Imam, Head of Sales XL Axiata Greater Medan, Horas Lubis, community journalists, and the entire PFI Medan family.
