Aceh, 15 September 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) continues to improve the quality of data services throughout the province of Aceh, including South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, and Simeulue. Until the last two years, XL Axiata has continued strengthening its network in the three adjacent regencies, in line with the increasing demand for customer data there.
XL Axiata‘s Group Head of West Region, Desy Sari Dewi said, “We continue strengthening our network in all areas in Aceh Province, including South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, and Simeulue regencies. Although the area is quite remote, XL Axiata's data traffic there actually continues to grow. Therefore, we also continue strengthening the quality of our network and expanding its reach.
Desy added that the network strengthening also shows the seriousness of XL Axiata as the fastest internet service provider for customers and the public. "XL Axiata Ada Untuk Indonesia".
Currently, in the South Aceh Regency, XL Axiata's 4G network has reached 117 villages and 11 districts. In Aceh Singkil Regency, it covers 57 villages and 7 districts. Then in Simeulue Regency, it has reached 21 villages and 3 districts. This number has the potential to continue to grow considering the increasing need for people to utilize data services to support daily activities and productivity.
According to Desy, XL Axiata will continue to increase the capacity of the transmission link and BTS so that the quality of the network is quality. In the last two years, an increase in traffic has occurred in the South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, and Simeulue regencies. In the three areas, traffic has increased between 100% and 900%.
“The growth of data traffic cannot be separated from the increasing digital activities of the community which are increasingly becoming part of their daily lives. It is noted that as of the second quarter of 2022, XL Axiata has more than 700 thousand customers in Aceh province and continues to grow dynamically," Desy continued.
In Simeulue Regency, XL Axiata has four 4G BTS, in Aceh Singkil Regency there are 9 4G BTS, and in South Aceh Regency, there are 22 4G BTS. Throughout Aceh Province, XL Axiata's network is supported by more than 2,300 BTS, of which 1,360 are 4G BTS. This number includes BTS in remote islands such as Simeulue, Sabang, Breuh, and Nasi in the waters of the Indian Ocean.

With the increasing number of XL Axiata service users, network strengthening in Aceh Province will be carried out throughout the year to improve network quality and add to new areas. In terms of products, XL Axiata provides data service packages through XL and AXIS cards tailored to the needs of various customer segments.
Currently, there are product promos that can be used by customers and the public in South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, and Simeulue to access data services on the 4G network, namely XL and AXIS, at very affordable prices. With these products, the public and customers will benefit from data packages ranging from 3GB to 55GB. The data package can be used to support community productivity, including supporting MSMEs, students, private employees, and government officials.
(Acting) Head of Sales of XL Axiata for Outer South Sumatra-Aceh, Bertrand Sinabariba, stated, “To ensure that it is easy for the public and customers to obtain XL Axiata products, both XL and AXIS, currently in South Aceh, Aceh Singkil, and Simeulue there are around 250 credit shops that provide XL Axiata products. These shops expand to villages that are already covered by XL Axiata services. Through these distribution network stores, customers can also get information and file complaints, which the store manager will forward to XL Axiata customer service.”
Meanwhile, people in Banda Aceh City can visit the XL Center on Jalan Mr. Dr. Mohd. Hasan, Batoh, Lueng Bata, Landom, Banda Aceh City. XL Axiata will continue to make it easier for the public and customers to get products and services for filing complaints.
Overall, the ease and convenience of accessing XL Axiata data services are supported by networks spread across all regions in Indonesia. Some of them have penetrated and served people in remote areas and are located on national borders. A total of more than 144 thousand BTS, of which more than 88 thousand are 4G BTS, and a fibre optic network of more than 130 thousand kilometres support the strength of XL Axiata's network to serve around 57 million customers in various regions in Indonesia.
