Padang, 2 Desember 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is ready to support the revival of the digital economy in West Sumatra. XL Axiata's 4G network in this province has reached 1,021 villages in 150 districts and 18 cities/regencies. The provision of this quality data network is also a concrete form of XL Axiata's efforts to participate in supporting the local government to improve the digital economy of the people of West Sumatra, including tourism. For this reason, XL Axiata continues to expand its quality data network throughout West Sumatra.
Group Head of XL Axiata for West Region, Desy Sari Dewi, said, "4G telecommunication and data networks are the main infrastructures supporting digitalization in various fields. Therefore, XL Axiata management continues to aggressively build networks to expand to new areas and strengthen the quality in areas where our network already exists. The existence of 4G data networks up to remote areas also supports efforts to increase people's digital literacy so that they can immediately adapt to the growth of the digital economy."
XL Axiata noted that there are currently more than 880 thousand customers in West Sumatra. In this province, there are more than 3,250 BTS, including around 2,000 4G BTS. In the last two years, the increase in traffic throughout West Sumatra has been around 85%. The highest traffic growth occurs in Sijunjung Regency, which reaches up to 398%, Sawah Lunto City at 397%, and West Pasaman at 185%. In Padang City, the provincial capital, traffic has increased by 18%.
Seeing the rapid demand of the community, XL Axiata has expanded to 82 districts located in almost all cities/regencies. Among others are Agam Regency, Dharmas Raya, Lima Puluh Kota, Padang Pariaman, Pasaman, West Pasaman, Pesisir Selatan, Solok, Tanah Datar, Bukittinggi, Padang City, Padang Panjang City, Pariaman City, Payakumbuh City, Sawah Lunto City, and Solok City.
Meanwhile, XL Axiata's 4G network also serves the main transportation routes in West Sumatra. These routes include Padang - Bukittinggi, Bukittinggi - Pekanbaru, Padang - Pesisir Selatan, and the Trans Sumatra central route in West Sumatra.
Network quality improvements carried out in response to the increase in traffic include the addition of new BTS, fiber optic networks, BTS capacity, and network optimization. This expansion will continue to be carried out so that services can be more evenly distributed to reach areas with great economic potential, including tourist destinations and industrial areas.
In the last two years, XL Axiata has added around 150 BTS. Regarding data network expansion in West Sumatra Province, until the end of the year, there are still 18 BTS that will be added to the network in West Sumatra. This includes Padang City, Agam Regency, Lima Puluh Kota, Pesisir Selatan, West Pasaman, Solok, Tanah Datar, Payakumbuh City, and Dharmas Raya.
Special promotions for XL Axiata products in West Sumatra
Currently, there is a product promotion for customers and the public in West Sumatra to use to access data services on the 4G network, namely:

According to Trisna, residents in Padang City can also come directly to XL Center Padang on Jalan DR Sutomo No 48 A/B Kubu Marapalam Village, East Padang District. Through these distribution network stores, customers can also get information and submit complaints, which the store manager will forward to XL Axiata customer service. XL Axiata will continue to make it easier for the public and customers to obtain products and services for complaints.
