Bandung, July 9th 2020. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is committed to continue to maintain the quality of service within the West Java province. One of the focus is strengthening network of the new industrial area located in the golden triangle of Majalengka, Cirebon and Subang. This area is a node of three strategic locations in economic development that have been supported by various infrastructures such as the Port of Cirebon, the Port of Patimban, and the West Java International Airport (BIJB) connected to the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road, including the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan Toll (Cisumdawu).
Group Head Central Region of XL Axiata, Rd. Sofia Purbayanti said, "XL Axiata sees the important role of West Java in the company's progress to date. The geographical position of West Java which directly borders while at the same time supports the capital city, makes the characteristics of the needs and patterns of internet consumption of its people similar to those living in DKI Jakarta. The increasing number of industrial estates established in West Java is a special concern for us to help provide services from the corporate segment.”
According to Rd. Sofia Purbayanti, network strengthening will continue to be intensified throughout this region to support the needs of those within all tiers of society in terms of quality access to telecommunications. Market segmentation, analysis of customer needs to product adaptation quickly and precisely are some of the strategies XL Axiata have implemented in meeting the needs of customers in West Java.
In terms of supporting the ecosystem and developing potential solutions from the Internet of Things (IoT) aspect, at the end of 2019, XL Axiata has launched a network service that provides special Narrowband IoT credit cards (NB-IoT) in 31 cities / districts within Indonesia, including Majalengka and Cirebon which is part of the new industrial area in West Java. In its’ development, XL Axiata collaborates with the Ministry of Communications and informatics along with the Industrial Ministry.
Until now, XL Axiata services in West Java have been supported by more than 25,000 BTS (2G/3G/4G). Specifically, for the new industrial estate in West Java consisting of Subang-Majalengka-Cirebon, XL Axiata services are supported by more than 1,900 BTS (2G / 3G / 4G). Compared to the same period last year, the addition of BTS in West Java rose by more than 25%. Seeing the need for quality network services that also continue to increase in this particular region, the company is carrying out several initiatives including the continuation of the development of fiberization at this time.
Aside from Subang, Majalengka, and Cirebon, fiberization also continue in tin a number of cities and districts in West Java, namely Bandung, West Bandung (Bandung Barat), Banjar, Ciamis, Cianjur, Garut, Indramayu, Cimahi, Tasikmalaya, Kuningan, and Purwakarta.
Investment related to network fiberisation continues to be carried out to serve data traffic which is rapidly increasing, especially in this new normal period. In addition, investment in transmission, backhaul, network modernization, and other network enhancements continues to be poured to serve the growth of data traffic as to provide stability in connectivity, network capacity, and service quality in general.
